Natural Sensory Exploration
Course for pre-crawling babies
This three week course focuses on welcoming parents /carers and their pre-crawling babies to explore different sensory toys each week as we learn more about the sense of Touch, Sight and Sound. Group leader will share some developmental insights before exploring a range of different resources. Simple action songs and crafts mark the middle of the session. The session ends with an opportunity to share about your baby and their progress and learning before finishing with a sensory story involving fun actions which your baby can enjoy.

This group is free flow should you need to change a nappy/feed/walk around please feel free to do so at any point. Should your baby find a favourite toy then let them enjoy this for as long as they wish. The speed of exploration is entirely up to you and your baby!

Nature Messy Play
Enjoy the mess, the fun and play
Then simply leave us to tidy it all away!!
Each week a variety of tuff trays will be set up with different nature items to explore. Enjoy a visit to the farm with straw, sticks, mud and more or go to the beach for some sand play building sandcastles and digging or get wet and wild with the water tray enjoy pouring, washing and splashing.
A variety of other nature inspired exploration corners will be set up (depending on group size). (Please inform us of any allergies your child may have and note that although suitable for all ages up to 5 years, small parts will require close supervision from joining adult).

Steiner Play group
Enjoy the simple play space which has been set up especially to cater for independent, imaginative play. There will be various corners set up to explore - children can enjoy cooking up a storm in the kitchen, take care of the doll babies in the home corner, build creatively with wooden boxes, bricks, pinecone, sticks and more. After a period of play the group will be invited to take part in some seasonal craft activities, share a group snack and each session ends with a series of games, poems and rhymes and a seasonal story.

Our Nature Kindergarten will provide a gentle Steiner early years inspired rhythm for children aged 3 to 7 years old. Inspired by the changing seasons around us the outdoor space will be set up with a wide variety of toys in our tipi tent - a 'home corner' with baby dolls, dressing up and more, a cosy corner with sheepskins and books to look at and enjoy, a vehicle and construction with a variety of natural loose parts, branches, blocks, stones, pine cones and wood slices. Centrally to this we will have a low children's table which will be the main space for our daily activities.

1-4 Forest school afternoon
4-5.30 After school club

Tuesday will be painting/ drawing day
Wednesday Baking day
Thursday seasonal craft day

This gentle, repetitive rhythm will provide an anchor and easy to understand focus for the children. After the days activity and free flow play, the group will gather together for snacks to give them energy to go and play outdoors. The morning will finish with circle time of seasonal songs, poems, games and a story. The story will be shared and repeated over a number of weeks to allow the children an immersive experience as they see the story come to life through a puppet show. Parents/ carers will then come to collect the children OR they may stay for lunch/ Forest school afternoons.

Forest school will be filled with child led exploration of nature, a snack and craft will be provided. Learning of safe tool use, woodwork projects, firelighting, nature identification, den building and more will feature.

All eequ.org listings state prices for 1 child attending. Siblings over 1 year old are HALF PRICE (under 1's attend for free with a paying child)

Should you need to cancel this can be done up to 1 week in advance of the first session and a full refund (minus £5 admin fee) will be returned to you.

If cancelling less than 1 week in advance of the start of your session(s) then a refund (minus £5 admin fee) will only be given IF we can secure another booking to fill your spot

Cancellation requests may be treated on an individual basis and management reserve the right to offer refunds if deemed appropriate

Should Little Squirrels need to cancel due to adverse, dangerous weather/group leader illness or other unforseen circumstances then you will either be offered a FREE alternative session or given credit to use towards a future booking at management's discretion refunds may be offered
